Start by opening the App Store on your iPad. In the search bar, type “Lightroom” and find the official Adobe Lightroom app. It is free to download, though some advanced features may require a subscription. Tap “Get” next to the app icon and authenticate with your Apple ID, Face ID, or Touch ID if prompted. Wait for the installation to finish. Once installed, you’ll see the Lightroom icon on your home screen.
Open Lightroom by tapping its icon. The first time you launch it, you’ll be prompted to sign in or create an Adobe account. If you already have an Adobe ID, enter your email and password. If not, tap on “Create an Account” to sign up. Having an Adobe account allows you to sync your photos across devices, access cloud storage, and unlock premium features.
After signing in, Lightroom will request access to your Photos app and Files. Grant these permissions to import images and save your edits smoothly. You can adjust these permissions later in your device settings if preferred. You will also be prompted to subscribe if you want full access. If you prefer to test the free version, choose the free trial or the basic plan.
Once your setup is complete, you’ll see the main interface. The bottom tabs include Library, Edit, and other options. Tap the Library tab to view your imported photos or add new images by tapping the “+” icon. In the Edit tab, you’ll find basic editing tools such as cropping, exposure adjustment, and color enhancement. Within the app, tutorials and tips are available to help you learn its full capabilities.
To start editing, import photos from your camera roll or Files. Tap the “+” icon, select “Add Photos,” then choose your images. After import, organize your photos into albums if desired, and begin exploring editing tools. Remember, progress is saved automatically, and you can export your final images to share or print anytime.
