Canceling your subscription to a site (or renewing it) terminates the account you’ve subscribed to and stops your payments. If you go offline, all of your content will be removed after 30 days. To delete an expired or canceled site permanently, just delete it immediately.

If you cancel your Squarespace account, your domain will not immediately expire. All Squarespace domains will continue to auto-renew on their renewal date.
Standard Plans. We automatically issue a full refund when you cancel an annual website subscription within the first 14 days. Otherwise, your plan is set to auto-renew, and we follow these refund policies: After 14 days of the initial payment for the plan, we don’t provide refunds—even in case of cancellation by the customer.
While we encourage our customers to use credit cards with updated expiration dates, we will attempt to contact you about renewing your account. If you do not accept the charge within 48 hours (or sooner upon request) of the next scheduled payment date, your billing information will be deactivated and your site will be in an unpaid state until it is manually renewed. No – if you would like to continue with another year, please contact customer support before the end of the current term in order to ensure uninterrupted service and prevent your account from being deactivated. If you do not upgrade by then, your account will be deactivated after 48 hours (or sooner upon request) and deleted or transferred 90 days after that unless another plan was selected at the time. If you have remaining time on your current annual plan and do not wish to continue with another year, please contact customer support who will confirm that you would like to cancel your membership. Once we confirm that you would like to cancel your membership, we will adjust your billing and deactivate your account as soon as possible. You will receive an email when this is complete. If you have not paid for the remainder of your current term and/or would like to downgrade to our $5 monthly hosting plan, contact us at least one business day before the next charge date in order to allow us time to process these changes on our end.

If you set up domain parking before canceling and need to move it elsewhere, log into your account and navigate to Domains > Manage Domains.
Yes, you can export your site’s data before canceling in this order: Premium or Business plan -> Site backup -> Export. You can also contact support to request a timed export of your site’s data before canceling at any level and we’ll assist you with that as well.
