Can I delete my Google account?

Deletion of an account differs from removing it from your device. When you cancel your Google account, it is permanently deleted from the company’s servers. As a result, any information connected with your Google account will be lost.

Your Gmail address and Google account are essentially the same thing. A new email address would be a completely new and distinct account. Yes, you may establish the new account and attempt to migrate your data from the old account, but not all of your information in a Google account is transferable.

Google will still keep your “deleted” information for audits and other internal uses. If you don’t have a Google account or don’t usually sign in to it, Google can still see your past. To do so, it utilizes a cookie saved in your browser.

Open the Settings app on your phone. Select Accounts from the drop-down menu. If you don’t see “Accounts,” go to Users & accounts instead. Tap the account you wish to remove. Remove the account by selecting it and tapping Delete Account at the bottom of the screen. For security, if this is the only Google Account on your phone, you’ll need to enter your phone’s pattern, PIN, or password.

Before deleting your Gmail service, download your data.
On your Android phone or tablet, open your device’s Settings app Google.
On the top, tap Data & privacy. Scroll to “Data from apps and services you use.”
Under “Download or delete your data,” tap Delete a Google service.

You may choose how long Google should wait before assuming you’ve been completely inactive. The default is three months of inactivity, but you can postpone it up to 18 months. Google claims that one month before your account is declared inactive, it will contact you via emails and text messages.

If you no longer use your Google account and want to permanently delete it, there are a couple of ways you can go about it: You can sign out of your Google account completely and then delete it. Or, if you signed in to your account using a different device, you can sign out of that device and then delete the account.

Deleting your Google Account will delete all of your data from Google services, including your Gmail, Google Drive, and YouTube accounts. You won’t be able to re-create or access these accounts unless you create a new account.

There are a few ways to delete your Gmail account, but they all come with some risks.
The easiest way is to use the account’s interface on the web or in desktop software. Just click on the gear icon in the top right of your inbox and select “delete account.”
If you want to delete your Gmail account but don’t want to lose any of your emails, you can also send an email to [email protected] and specify that you want to delete your account.
However, this method doesn’t completely remove your Gmail existence from the internet. All of your saved emails, including restored archives and deleted messages, will still be accessible through Google search and other Google services.

Deleting your Google account is a permanent decision. In order to complete the deletion, you’ll need to provide evidence of your identity and sign in to your Google Account. After that, it will take about seven days for all of your data to be permanently deleted.

Generally, deleting an email account will delete all of the emails that were sent and received through that account. However, there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, if you have archived your email using a service like Gmail’s “Archive” feature, then your archived emails will remain unaffected by the deletion of your email account.

If you want to delete all of your data from Gmail, there are a few ways to go about it.  You can use the settings on your account or use the web interface.  If you want to delete all of your data from Gmail using the settings on your account, first click on the three lines in the top right corner of your screen and select Settings.  On the General tab, under Email Preferences, select Delete All Data.  Click OK to confirm and your data will be deleted.

When you delete your Gmail account, Google sends all of your email messages to the Trash folder on the server. But if you also have a Google account on another device, like a computer or phone, those devices still have copies of your email messages. So be sure to also delete any old emails from that other device before deleting your Gmail account.

No, Google does not keep your search history forever. Your search history is only kept for a period of six months. After that, it is deleted.

If you want to remove your Google account, be aware that doing so will delete all of your contacts as well. If you only want to remove your account, but keep your contacts, you’ll need to export them before removing your account.
