Can you see deleted Instagram accounts?

Answer

There is no way to find a person’s deleted Instagram account. When you search for their username, there are no results. You cannot hack into the user database and see pictures they have posted, either. Edit: There is no way to find a person’s deleted Instagram account; when you search for their username, there are no results and if you type in their username it will bring up different things unrelated to that particular person like other people with similar names or trending searches instead of any posts they may have made on the social media site previously.

how to recover deleted Instagram account

You probably have seen these screenshots and wanted to know how it is possible:

The secret behind this is a simple trick. When an Instagram account is deleted it becomes invisible for everyone except the user and Instagram support team. It happens even when the account was public; only people who had access to it before it has been deleted will be able to see the content of that account until its deletion is confirmed by the Instagram support team. Once it’s done deleting your profile, only a small “Report” link on the top corner of each post remains visible to users with whom the owner used to interact – here’s what we mean:

If someone tries to report one of your posts or profile as spam or abuse and succeeds in doing so, they will see the following message:

However, if someone reports your account for another reason (for example using a fake email), they’ll see this message instead:

It means that Instagram has already confirmed the deletion of your profile. And if you want to check it manually for yourself here’s how to do it. Go to instagram.com/support/contact/, enter your username, and click the “Report this profile” button in the bottom right corner of the page. If there’s no “report this profile” button next to the username then Instagram has not confirmed its deletion yet, but keep waiting – delete confirmation should appear within 24 hours after an attempt to delete an account.

Warning: If you see a link to report a deleted Instagram account, it’s either from the person, who previously owned that account (which means Instagram has already confirmed its deletion), or this is not an actual Instagram support page. Always use official links to contact Instagram Support.

If someone succeeds in reporting your profile as spammed/abused and if you were kicked out by mistake or for any other reason (for example because of duplicate content), please let us know about this issue at [email protected] or get help via Help Center at help.instagram.com. We are trying our best to make sure there are no mistakes as we have been receiving numerous spam reports on a daily basis – thus it may have affected your recently deleted account.

Can You Recover Deleted Instagram Account

What’s the difference between deleting and deactivating an Instagram account?

There are only two ways how to delete your Instagram account – by request or by choice. If you want to delete your account because it was hacked, there’s no option to recover it at this stage (check out our recent post on Instagram hack recovery hacks). Also, if your profile was reported as spam/abused and it got deleted (for example due to a technical error), we can’t help you – just like any other third-party software companies cannot get back lost data from an external computer disk drive once this drive was formatted in Windows Explorer, for example. However, if you see a small “Delete my Account” link on the top right corner of your screen or you see a notification on your profile page that you can remove everything from Instagram and, in particular, delete your account (see screenshot below), then this means you have an option to recover it once again.

If you click “Delete my Account”, please proceed with caution – there’s no going back once this process is confirmed. Once upon a time, an Instagram user had only two options – either they could deactivate their account or delete it permanently. But now there is a third option which gives people an opportunity to stay away from Instagram for 1 year without losing any data and be able to reactivate their account after the period ended (for example if they want to use Facebook login). Yes, Instagram recently introduced a new option of 1-year temporary deactivation for all users. Here’s how to do it:

How to Temporarily Deactivate Your Instagram Account?

Go to instagram.com/deactivate/, click “Temporary Deactivate” and enter your username and password; Log in again if you have two-factor authentication enabled (highly recommended). Once you are logged in with the correct credentials, click on a link that states that “Your account will be deactivated for one year”; Confirm the deletion by clicking “OK.” That’s all! Now go make some sandwiches or something – once a year is up, log back into your account as usual. Once confirmed by the Instagram Support team, this deletion will be permanent and you can not get back to your account unless you create it again from scratch.

If someone deletes your Instagram account on his/her own, then there’s nothing much you can do about this as the username can no longer be used. In this case, we would recommend reaching out to Instagram Support which is quite responsive in most cases they are processing requests within 24 hours (check out our recent post on how to contact Instagram). But if someone managed to change your password and kick you out of your account with a help of some third party software or hacked your profile by guessing your email address and password, please follow all these steps below:

How to Get Your Instagram Account Back From Obscurity

Use an email address that is different from the one you are using on Instagram (it doesn’t even have to be your personal Gmail account); Go to this page: facebook.com/hacked/. If you had your Facebook profile hacked, then you should receive a message asking if someone changed your password, and email verifying that they did so or a notification in the News Feed about it. If all of these things happened, then just click on “I wasn’t locked out”. Fill out all fields and provide us with some background information; Click on “Submit” which brings you back to the Status Checker screen for your request; After some time (usually up to 48 hours), click on “Check Status.” This will generate a confirmation code that will be sent to you via email.

If your Facebook and Instagram accounts are linked, then this code will be applied on Instagram as well; If the code works on both sides (Facebook AND Instagram), then click here to regain access to your account. If it doesn’t work, check out our troubleshooting section below. We recommend using another browser or clearing up the cache in case you use Google Chrome; Now that you’re logged into your account again, go back to the hacked.com/hacked page and report to us whether any information was still incorrect (see how to do it in step #1 above).

Note: This process is not a flawless one – sometimes we manage to get emails from people who are locked out of their profile but it’s still locked because they either left the account inactive or changed their email address. Please, try and understand that we do our best with what we have at hand – if you think that there is a problem then please let us know about it in the comments below this article. Also, note that this process might get very tough for celebrities of Instagram due to steeper security measures implemented by Instagram administrators.

#Instagram #Troubleshooting: If your password was changed, your profile got hacked or you were banned from using Instagram, then here are some tips on how to regain access to your account:

The tips below might not be the only way to regain access to your profile but these are definitely the easiest ones:

Reset your password – if you have two-step verification enabled on Instagram (which is highly recommended), then this method will work as well; Change the email address associated with your Instagram account; If nothing above works for you and you’re sure that no one from your friends or family can help you, then try using one of the internet forums dedicated to hacking and password recovery.
