PlayStation accounts get deleted when they are inactive for a long period of time. Sony has a policy in place that if an account is not used for 24 months, then it will be deleted.
Inactive accounts are not automatically deleted. The account owner has to delete the account themselves.
To delete your inactive PSN account, you can go to the PlayStation website and click on “Account Management” on the top right. Then, select “Sign-in & Security” and then “PlayStation Network/Account Management.” From there, you can select “PlayStation Network Account Information” and then “Deactivate Account.
