If you no longer want a device to be associated with one of your iCloud accounts, you can remove that device from iCloud. You won’t be able to use the device with your Apple account until you re-enable it in Settings > iCloud.
For devices running iOS 10 or later:
Tap the Edit button in the upper right corner of the screen. Tap Remove beside any devices you don’t want to associate with this account. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password and tap OK. On older devices, swipe left on “iCloud” and tap Delete Account at the bottom of the screen. Confirm removal by tapping Delete Account again when prompted for confirmation. You’ll see a message confirming that if you delete this account, you’ll lose access to any content like purchases and information stored in your iCloud account. This includes any services from Apple, like iCloud Drive and Find My iPhone, as well as third-party apps that use iCloud for storage or sign-in, such as the Mail app. If you want to keep using those apps on other devices or computers, make sure to set up an account for each device before deleting this one.
For devices running iOS 9 or earlier:
You can also remove a device from an existing Apple ID by updating the country or region associated with it. Visit icloud.com/removedevice , log in to your acccount and choose a new country or region for your device. Once the change has been made it may take up to 24 hours for the change to take effect. Once effective, you will no longer be able to use your device with this Apple ID account.
If you wish to then use your iDevice in a different country or region and set that up again, you can do so by locating the Settings App on your device select General -> Language & Region. Then select United States as the region at which point you’ll be given an option to sign into an existing Apple ID or create a new one – like usual.
How do I move my purchased music from iCloud back to my computer?
To download music purchases directly into iTunes using iTunes 10 or later:
In Account Information, select Download previous purchases next to your Apple ID. Click Download next to any items you want to download.
You can also download previously purchased music and other content from the iTunes Store:
In iTunes, choose iTunes Store > Account > Purchased. Select Music at the top of the screen if it’s not already selected, then select Not in My Library at the top right of this page. Use this option to look for content that was previously purchased but is no longer showing up in your library due to an issue with iCloud or other services like Match or Home Sharing (see below). For example, you might see a message that reads “Purchased on [date]. This song is currently unavailable.” Select all songs and albums by clicking Checkboxes beside each song or album. Choose File > Download or Add to Library (or press Command-i).
If you’re having trouble accessing content you’ve purchased, see this Apple Support article for more information.
How do I download music that is no longer available on the iTunes Store?
You can add individual songs by selecting Not in My Library and then choosing File > Add to Library or pressing Command-I. You’ll see a message telling you the song has been added, but it may take several minutes for the file to actually appear in your library. If it’s still not there, wait a while and try again later. This allows iCloud time to update purchases from any previous devices that are now associated with your account; otherwise, those purchases may not yet be visible in the iTunes Store.
You can also add entire albums by selecting Checkboxes beside each song or album and choosing File > Download or Add to Library (or pressing Command-I). This downloads all of the music on an album, except for any songs you’ve already purchased individually.
How do I tell if my Apple ID has a different country associated with it?
Visit icloud.com/removedevice , log in to your account, and click Manage next to your device’s name. You’ll see one of two text strings: “No Country Specified” (shown here) when no country is currently selected for this device, or the name of the country associated with this device in parentheses.
To change the country associated with this device, click Edit next to Country. Then choose your new country and select Done. This will take effect within 24 hours, after which you won’t be able to use this device with your Apple ID anymore (follow the steps below for tips on how to link it to a different account).
How do I delete an account from my iPhone or iPad?
If you’ve decided that you don’t want to continue using iCloud on your iOS Device, you can remove each account individually using the following steps:
Tap Settings > iCloud Scroll down and tap Contacts Tap Remove Account at the bottom of the screen Confirm by tapping REMOVE ACCOUNT If you also want to remove your Apple ID account, tap separate DELETE ACCOUNT button
If you do not want to remove individual accounts on the device, but instead want all non-Apple iCloud related data from the iPad / iPhone removed then follow the steps below:
Reset All Settings – This will delete all iCloud information and reset network settings – see here for details. If you are still seeing issues after doing this please check with icloud.com/removedevice that it has been removed from your account list.
Alternatively if you have a backup of your device (either locally or in iCloud using iTunes) then restore your device – this will sync all content including apps and music back onto the phone unless content is also held within iCloud for Apps and Music. Again + if you are still seeing issues after doing this please check with icloud.com/removedevice that it has been removed from your account list.

If you’ve got an iOS or computer device with your iTunes library on it, the steps are pretty straightforward:
Make sure both devices are signed in with the same Apple ID, and open iTunes Use “File > Devices > Transfer Purchases From [device]” Plug in your new iPad / iPhone or connect the computer via USB Restore from a backup (from iTunes), or set up as a new device If prompted, enter the 4-digit code for Find My Remote Enter your password when prompted Wait while iTunes copies over all content and settings When complete, tap Settings > iCloud, then sign out of iCloud (even if you plan to keep using it on other devices)
How do I remove an account from my Apple TV?
If you have previously signed in to iCloud with your Apple ID and want to remove all of your data, but leave the device remain connected:
Turn off and then back on your Apple TV Sign into any existing iTunes Store account. Open Settings > General > About > Scroll down and choose “Restore Factory Settings,” which will erase all content, settings, apps, and personal information to restore the device’s default factory settings. After a few minutes (or hours), re-enter your iTunes Store login info for purchases.
1. Sign in to iCloud.com.
2. Go to Find My iPhone.
3. Click All Devices.
4. Select the device that you want to remove from iCloud.
5. Click Erase.
6. Select Next until the device is erased.
7. Click Remove from Account.
Apps stored on your device will continue to work. However, if you sign out of the App Store, you won’t be able to download any future apps until re-signing in again. Deleting yourself from a cellular account will not affect anything else on your phone – as music, photos and other essential documents are unaffected.
If you can’t remove a device, sign out of your Apple ID on that device and try again. If you still can’t remove it, wait up to 90 days to associate the device with the new account.
