HOW TO CREATE, ALTER AND DELETE GROUPS AND LEDGERS
Tally.ERP 9 Group Creation, Alteration, Deletion
Alt, A, U, C is the keyboard shortcut to clear all of the row and column groups on a spreadsheet. This is like pressing the “Clear Outline” button found near the Ungroup menu in the Data tab on top of your screen. Bonus joke: There’s a time that you’ll press Ctrl+Alt+Right Arrow when trying to do group/ungroup shortcuts – at some point, it will happen.
To delete the Stock Group, press ALT+D. To delete a stock group, first make sure that there are no other groups or stocks using it.
Multiple group is when you have more than one group to tally. For example, if you had a survey with three questions and you want to know the answer to all of them, then you would have a multiple group.
To delete a stock group, go to the ‘My Groups’ tab on the left-hand side of the page. Find the stock group you want to delete and click on it. Next, click on ‘Delete Group’.
To delete a company in Tally 9, go to Company > Company List. In the list of companies, find the company you want to delete and click on it. Next, click Delete. A window will pop up asking if you are sure you want to delete this company. Click Yes and the company will be deleted from your list.
If you want to use the ledgers to track different things, you need to create a new ledger for each new thing. For example, if you want to track your spending and saving on two different ledgers, then you would create two separate ledgers.
