You can delete your account from the app by going into the “About” menu and then tapping on the “[Your name]”. Then tap on “Delete Account.” You will be prompted to confirm deletion. Deleting your account permanently removes any of your Smule creations from our servers, so you will no longer be able to view or download them. Email addresses associated with accounts are not shared with other users and do not display in search results (unless that user has chosen to have his/her email address displayed). Credit card information is stored in PCI compliant environments, encrypted both at rest and in transit using industry standard technology and encryption protocols. No credit card data is stored within a user’s profile.

Is there a cost for deleting my account?

There is no cost for deleting your account. However, if you have purchased a Pro subscription to Smule products (Superstar or Sing! Karaoke), please note that any paid time remaining on your current Pro subscription will not be refunded as part of the account deletion process.

If your child’s account is deleted, all content created in the account will also be permanently deleted – including any purchases made through the app or website. We suggest you talk with your child about backing up his/her work on another device before removing their account from Smule. Backups can be found by going into the “About” menu and then tapping on “[Your name]”. Then tap on “My Downloads,” and scroll down to see all your downloads. How long will it take for my account to be deleted?

It may take a while for your account information (email address, etc.) associated with purchases or other transactions to be removed from our records. For example, if you made a purchase in the App Store this morning, it can sometimes take Apple several days to remove that transaction from their records. Likewise, if you’ve made several purchases in our app, we will need to remove each one individually. Please be patient and know that this process is being done manually by a human on the Smule Support team. However, it is important to us that Smule users retain their right to privacy โ€” which means we do not provide the services detailed above for free, nor do we provide them without requiring some sort of proof that the user actually owns the rights for every song under his/her account. For example, videos that were recorded with the Smule Video app cannot be permanently deleted from our servers unless proof of ownership is provided (e.g., links to YouTube videos).

But just in case you are worried about us selling your data or sharing it with third-parties; we do not share customer information with anyone at any time for any reason whatsoever without the user’s explicit permission. What if I want to get my purchased music back after deleting my account?

Unfortunately, once your account is deleted you will no longer be able to access the store nor any of your purchased content. We can’t make exceptions because our licensing agreements require us to remove your content from our servers in this case, so we recommend that users save a copy of their content onto their computer before contacting support at https://support.smule.com/hc/en-us/requests/new for assistance with restoring purchases on an individual basis.
