If you’re not already signed in, TikTok will not allow you to delete your account. First, log in to the app and then tap the three-dot menu at the top right corner. Delete your account by choosing ‘manage my account’ and then tapping Remove.
During the first three months of 2021, TikTok has said it removed approximately 7.3 million accounts that were believed to belong to children under the age of 13. According to the app, the accounts it deleted account for less than 1% of its users worldwide.
The platform is open to children aged 13 and above, which makes it particularly popular among teenagers. This is the first time TikTok has issued such statistics in a Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.
To remove TikTok from your profile, go to your profile tab and select “Manage My Account” then “Delete Account.” Your account will be “deactivated” for 30 days after you confirm your choice. Your account will be permanently deleted after 30 days if you do not reactivate it.
To delete a TikTok account, go to Manage Accounts and select Delete Account. To verify that the account you want to delete is yours, you may need to login with a third party such as Google or add the phone number you used to create your account. After you’ve verified the account, you’ll be given a code that allows you to cancel your membership.
