How To Cancel Boingo Wireless

If you have an active Boingo Wireless account, you can cancel this by visiting the My Account page and clicking on the Cancel Your Membership link. You must be signed in to your account to access this link. If you are unsure of your username and/or password, click here for more information about how to obtain them. Please note that during a cancellation process, no charges will be incurred until after the new member period has expired (this is detailed in Boingo’s Customer Agreement), and these fees will be billed via one single credit card charge or PayPal invoice if paid by credit card or PayPal respectively. There will not be any extra charges due to cancellations for pre-paid, month-to-month, prepaid multi-months, or any other memberships.

How do I add devices to my Boingo account?

I need to cancel my Boingo account because I am moving. How can I do this?

If you are a current member or recently canceled your membership and are traveling to a new location that does not have Wi-Fi access, please visit our International Travel page for more information. If your subscription is active you will be able to log into your account as usual, but you will only be able to connect via streaming services (like Netflix) while you’re out of the country until you return. You will not be able to connect through Boingo’s network in any other way. Please note: If you have moved or traveled outside of your billing city/state within the US and have not canceled your account, you will still be billed for services in the new billing location.

We do not require you to subscribe/renew on a pre-paid basis; you can choose from several different payment options when setting up your billing information (monthly pre-pay, yearly auto-renewal, etc.)

What forms of payment does Boingo accept?

Boingo accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Boingo also accepts PayPal. You can set up your account using debit cards and pre-paid credit cards with verified billing addresses. If you choose to make monthly payments by credit card or PayPal for the $8 per month plan, there is no commitment and you may cancel anytime.

Does Boingo have data caps?

No, Boingo does not have any data caps or limits as long as you are paying for a Boingo subscription plan and not roaming on competitor networks. However, if you are on our Free Trial we do limit usage so that it is fair to both new members and existing members who pay for unlimited service (and in accordance with this policy). Can I use Boingo in an invisible or incognito browser window?

Yes, you can use nearly any browser to connect through Boingo Wi-Fi from any device.. All logins are the same, no matter what type of computer or mobile device is being used. As with most Wi-Fi service providers, you may not be able to access certain banking websites (and others) while using a public Internet connection; please let us know if you have questions about whether specific websites will work given your situation and we’ll be happy to help!

What happens when my free trial ends? How do I continue to pay for the service?

When your trial period ends, you receive a notice that your trial is about to expire. At this point, you have the option of either paying for a Boingo subscription ($8 per month) or stopping service. If you would like to continue with Boingo Wi-Fi access, follow the instructions in the notification and add a credit card or PayPal account so we can process your payment each month via our online web portal at boingo.com/payment.

Do I need to bring my own device?

No, all computers work exactly the same whether they are company PCs, Macs or any other kind of computer. You do not have to use anything but your existing laptop or desktop computer and you don’t even need an external wireless adapter – just connect as you usually do and you’ll automatically join Boingo’s network.

Is there a minimum contract period?

In short, no – There is absolutely no commitment or contract to sign, but as with most Wi-Fi service providers the longer your stay the greater the discount! In fact, some of our customers have been using Boingo for more than ten years (and counting). Just make sure you cancel before your credit card expires; otherwise, charges may continue on your bill. What if my computer doesn’t automatically connect to Boingo?

If your computer does not automatically connect upon arrival at Boingo hotspots, check to see if you have joined a competitor network. If so, simply select the Boingo network from your available networks list and click Connect. Your computer should now automatically connect to the Boingo Wi-Fi service.

Visit our website www.boingo.com/wifi and choose an account type at sign up (Monthly Plan or Annual Plan). You will need to submit some information about yourself, including address and credit card details for monthly billing ($8) or PayPal for an annual plan which is $79 per year ($6.58 per month). Because our system verifies the billing address on your credit card, we require you to sign up using a home or business address rather than a P.O. Box. Please read our online Terms and Conditions before purchasing a plan, especially if you have questions about the travel ability of Boingo Wi-Fi service outside of the US/Canada (note that there are some restrictions that may apply).

What are the payment options?

Currently, we accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover), PayPal, and TigerDirect POS payments for annual memberships. You can set up automatic monthly renewal; however, you must cancel at least 7 days prior to your next renewal date in order for us to stop your auto-renewal from being processed by your bank or PayPal. Otherwise, Boingo will automatically renew your account and debit your credit card or PayPal account.
