How do I cancel my Green Dot prepaid account?

Request a cancellation here at the Green Dot website by going to Security – Close Card and enter your account information.

You can close your account online through the “Close Card” option on the “Security” tab or by calling their customer service hotline at 866-795-7597.

Netspend only offers one option for closing an account—to withdraw all funds. This comes at a cost of withdrawing from an ATM and incurs fees for both the overseas transaction and any withdrawals from out-of-network ATMs in your own country

You have 30 days from the date of purchase to cancel this card, in which case we will refund your purchase fee, any monthly charges assessed, and any remaining value. However, by using or allowing anyone else to use this card you grant us the authority to enforce its terms.

If you have not used MoneyPak, you can request a refund by filling out the form here. Refunds typically take 7 – 14 days to process after we receive your request.

If you receive a message that your card has been locked due to suspicious activity, the best way to fix it is by calling Green Dot customer service at 1-866-795-7597 as described above and following the prompts.
