Why am I being charged in foreign currency?

For all international customers, HBO will present charges in your local official currency and then convert those amounts into U.S dollars according to applicable bank or credit card exchange rates on the day of billing, prior to charging your account. This ensures that you always see your correct total amount due and payable in local currency. Our conversion rate is based on such factors as wholesale currency market prices, government regulations, etc.. These charges are subject to change without prior notice. If you have any questions regarding a specific charge, please contact your financial institution and inquire about the applicable currency exchange rate on the day of billing as this will affect your total cost in local currency. HBO does not have control over bank or credit card policies that may result in additional fees or charges being assessed by your bank or financial institution following an international transaction.

Why am I receiving disclaimers/error messages when attempting to pay my bill?

To help ensure our customers’ security we use a third-party payment processor to process all payments on behalf of HBO. We require them to verify your billing address and other information before accepting any online payments; this also helps us identify fraudulent attempts to access customer accounts through the website. While we do our best to ensure that all payments are successful, there is still a possibility that you may experience a slight delay or error while attempting to make a payment. If you receive an error message during checkout, please try again later or contact your bank or financial institution directly for more information about the cause of the problem.

Why did I receive an invoice instead of my monthly bill?
