- Go to your contacts list and find the contact you want to remove.
- Once you find the contact, click on it and then click on “Leave Group.
Remove Members from Messenger Group and Delete Group Permanently
Open the group discussion from a Chat. Tap the people’s names at the top of the screen. Select Leave Group and then Leave Group from the drop-down menu.
Tap Remove from Group, then OK on Android or Delete on iOS. To remove a participant from a group on your iPhone: tap Remove from Group > Remove. Click Menu by the participant’s name and then Remove. Remove is one of the options under REMOVE in Web/Desktop mode.
You’re not alone! We’re now launching a feature that allows you to remove your message on Messenger – and it’s available to everyone, not just you. Simply tap the message you wish to delete and choose “Remove for Everyone” from the drop-down menu.
When you quit a group chat, a notification appears in the chat informing your friends that you’ve departed. It’s not a push notice, so they’ll only discover it if they open the Messenger app. There is no method to terminate a group conversation on Messenger without notifying everyone.
To accomplish so, go to the message and tap on Details in the upper right corner. Then scroll down towards the bottom of the page, and you’ll find Leave This Conversation. After that, don’t expect a response.
You cannot pre-emptively opt out of Facebook Messenger, but you can exit existing group chats by tapping “i” inside the thread and selecting “Leave Group” in Android or clicking the chat thread and selecting “Leave Group” in iOS. The messages will continue to come through if people are using SMS.
