How to Delete Gmail Account on iPhone
How to Add or Remove Gmail Accounts on iPhone 8 / iPhone X iOS 11
If you update an account with a POP email address on your iPhone, it does not affect the emails in any other location. As a result, you may delete an email from your iPhone but keep it on the server and still access it from your computer.
Tap the Delete button next to an email in your inbox. Select Messages To Delete from the drop-down menu. Tap Trash or Archive to dispose of them (or select specific emails by tapping Edit and selecting them). Touch and hold Archive if it’s only available; you’ll be able to choose different options like Trash Selected Messages if you do so.
You may also try one of these methods if repairing your data file doesn’t work and you still can’t delete emails: – Delete the selected emails by hard pressing the Shift key while they are highlighted/selected and hitting the Delete key.
If your email program and mobile device are set up to receive POP3, each device will download “NEW EMAIL” from the server. So, even if you remove an email on your desktop computer, it will still be on your phone. And vice versa.
Go to settings, then general settings. At the top of the list, you should see an option called Archive & Delete Activities; it should be set to “Show archive only.” It should now be set to “Show archive only,” as shown in the screenshot.
If you have the Mail app on your iPhone, you are unable to remove emails. To change this, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Gmail > select your account at the top > Advanced then Delete mailbox and see if that helps with the problem.
