I’ve been trying to delete an account on my HP laptop with Windows 10, but I don’t know where this option is. I already tried “File”-“Accounts”, but there wasn’t any option looking like a “delete account”. The only thing was the switching between accounts and the “Add new user” button. But I can’t find it anywhere.

How do I remove an existing user profile on my Acer laptop running Windows 8?

I have just purchased a Acer Aspire 5742Z-4755 5820TG-434G32Mn led monitor which came preloaded with Win 8 home premiun 32 bit it has a rock solid build quality & performance (except for some touch screen related issues and the Nvidia GT540M graphic card issue which is fixed with a later version of the preloaded graphics driver but im not bothered by this since i have a HD 4670 as my primary) . After getting used to Windows 8 after upgrading from win 7, i decided to clean install it without doing an upgrade update on my old HP laptop (win 7 enterprise 32 bit)

The issue is that I would like to connect both laptops using windows homegroup sharing so i can access all files on either laptop. The thing is when I tried creating a user profile in Win8 for my HP Laptop , it did not give me the option to “log off” or “delete” in control panel for that user account or any other way to remove this user from the laptop i have tried several suggestions including going to C:\Users\ & trying to delete via command prompt and it gives me “Cannot delete” error.

What do you think about Windows 10?

I’ve been using Windows 10 for almost a week now, and absolutely love it! My computer runs faster than ever before (even though it’s 3 years old), and Cortana, while a bit awkward at times, is really cool. It took me less than 1 day to fully adjust to Windows 10, and I hope that Microsoft will continue updating the OS so that someday soon we’ll get all the new features! (Can’t wait for Xbox One streaming!)

What is the difference between a clean install and an upgrade for windows 8 or 10?

I know back with win 7, you could do either but not both.. i’ve read that they both erase everything from your previous installation of windows OS on a computer (even if its just sitting there with no OS installed)… What im trying to figure out is.. what exactly happens with the file system of a computer, will all my personal files be erased completely? or are they just moved to a new partition/drive?

For example, if i do have windows 8 installed on one of my hard drives and use the upgrade option to get win 10.. And then later decide that i want to do a clean install… All my files from windows 8 would end up being erased when i try to do this clean install? I’m not looking for any other info about win 10 in particular atm… Just wondering how it takes care of moving your stuff around and actually getting rid of it.

Also another thing.. Since most computers come with 2 drives these days (one hard drive and one solid state drive).. Are they considered seperate partitions, or just different drives that are part of the same drive you purchased?

This will help me decide if i should get a new computer with win 10 installed on it before its release, or if i should wait for reviews. I am leaning towards waiting since until the first big update comes out… Who knows how bad or good this OS will be at launch time.

What is the difference between msconfig and startup in Windows 8?

I’m using windows 8 right now and ran into some problems when playing wow so i decided to start up safe mode which worked, but then i couldn’t boot normally anymore because my startup got messed up. So i ended up running msconfig and disabling unwanted programs from starting with windows, but then my problem occurs again. I disabled a lot of things before but it was still there… Is this the same as startup? Where do you disable those programs that start when windows boots?

Can you run both windows 8 and 10 on the same computer?

Run them at the same time.

However, Windows 10 is not upgradeable to from 8 or any other previous versions of Windows. You have to purchase a full version of Windows 10 in order to use it instead of an older operating system. If you already have a Windows key for 8 then you can get the upgrade for free (until July 29th 2016).
