How do I delete Hangouts from Gmail?

To access Gmail’s settings, click the “Settings” button in the top-right corner. Now, go to Gmail’s settings by selecting the “Settings” option. Click the “Chat And Meet” tab in Gmail’s settings. To disable Hangouts Chat, select “Chat Off” to the right of Chat.

If you downloaded Google Hangouts from the Google Play Store, go to the App Settings menu and uncheck it. It is not possible to fully remove Google Hangouts if it was preinstalled on your Android device. However, you may stop using it.

You can’t remove your Google Hangouts account unless you delete your Google account as well. Because Hangouts is integrated into your Google account, the only way to get rid of it is to fully delete your Google account.

Tap the hangouts app in the upper right corner and search for it. The hangouts application is accessible through your applications menu.
