It’s a myth that only highly intelligent people are creative. In fact, research shows that once you get beyond an I.Q. of about 120, which is just a little above average, intelligence and creativity are not at all related. That means even if you’re no smarter than most people, you still have the potential to wield amazing creative powers. So why are so few people highly creative? Because there are bad habits people learn as they grow up which crush the creative pathways in the brain. And like all bad habits, they can be broken if you are willing to work at them. Here are eight of the very worst bad habits that could be holding you back every day.–>
1. Being Rebellious For The Sake Of Rebellion
The ability to be contrary is a wonderful thing; it’s what makes us human. If we all fell in line and did the same thing, we’d live in a very dull world. But there’s a difference between thinking outside of the box and acting like an idiot, and most people never make that distinction when they’re young. Instead of realizing that rebelling for the sake of rebelling is just stupid, it becomes an identity, or worse yet, a lifestyle choice. This goes with clichés such as “It’s not my problem,” “I don’t care,” and my favorite this century: “Whatever.” A big part of becoming truly creative is learning how to think for yourself, and this is not possible when you’ve spent your whole life doing the opposite of what you’re told.
2. Being A Slave To The Comments You Read On The Internet
The internet has opened up all kinds of avenues to show people your creative work; it’s pretty easy these days to get noticed if you deserve to be seen. Unfortunately, it also allows hundreds or thousands (or even millions) of people who can’t even tie their own shoes to pass judgment on your work at the click of a mouse without getting too close to what you’re trying to do. And while it’s difficult not to take this personally, that’s exactly how you should look at it: as something that doesn’t concern or affect you. The people who do this might be writers and editors (it seems the internet gives them the chance to get rid of their inferiority complexes), or they might just be narcissists who need to feel like everything is about them, but no matter what, they can’t help you.
3. Taking On Too Much Work
This tends to happen when you’re starting out (although some never get past it). You’ll take anything because it’s better than doing nothing at all, and while that might be true for a time, eventually one of two things will happen: 1) your work will suffer due to lack of time and/or energy left after drawing up that next assignment; 2) you won’t finish either assignment and will start to lose momentum. Once you’ve painted yourself in a corner, it’s very difficult to get out of it because the moment you don’t complete what you set out to do, your “no” muscle atrophies and starts to rust. You’ll also get fewer requests if people don’t see your work or hear from you for too long without an explanation.
4. Using Things Without Any Understanding Of What They Are Or How They Work
I think this is why so many people seem unsure of how things actually work; they just use them until they break down or stop working properly then throw them away and buy something new that can be used until its time comes too. This doesn’t make much sense when something like a computer or a car just needs some sort of basic maintenance to keep going, but that doesn’t seem to register in most people’s minds. It’s not really laziness either; it’s more like an ignorance bred from never being taught these things when they were younger or having no reason to learn them. Some people think the internet will solve this problem for them, but instead of learning about something, they absorb so much information without making any attempt at understanding it themselves that the only thing they know how to do is ask others for help when in over their heads (“what does this do again?”)

It’s In Their Interests To Make It Difficult For You To Delete Your Accounts. The fact that social networks make it difficult for you to delete your accounts is due in large part to their objections. Most social network companies operate on the premise of luring in a large number of users. More users translate to more ad revenue, which equals money in the bank.
