Help! I’m being asked for my Facebook login information when I try to sign into another website or app. What’s going on?
If you’re seeing a prompt asking you to sign in using your Facebook login information while trying to sign into websites other than Facebook, it means that site is using Facebook Login and expecting you to sign in with the same email address and password as your Facebook account.
When you use any web browser (for example, Chrome) and go to a website or app that uses Facebook Login as their authentication method, it will check if you have signed into before by checking the email address and password you have on file with Facebook.
But if we can’t find a matching email address and password combination, it means that either: You are signing into a site or app that isn’t using Facebook Login as their authentication method You haven’t signed into this website or app before (or you haven’t added it to your sign in info) If the login prompt is looking for your FB login information but you’re not seeing any signs of Facebook Login, please contact the website administrator directly about what type of third party service they’re using.
Why do I keep getting asked to sign in?
If you’ve signed out of a particular web browser (for example, Chrome), close the browser window and reopen it. This should cause Facebook to clear your locally stored login cookies and then sign you back in automatically.
If that fails, try logging out of Facebook using the Account Settings page here: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=logout
(Note: This method will not clear all third party services that use Facebook Login.)

I’ve forgotten my login information but I know it starts with an “n” or a “t.” What do I do?
When we can’t find the email and password information that’s on file with Facebook, it usually means one of two things: You have logged into a new device or web browser that hasn’t signed you in before. Please see our question above for instructions on how to log into your account after signing in with another computer or mobile device The email address you use to sign in isn’t your primary email address. If you want to recover an old login, please follow these steps: Open up Chrome Browse to https://www.facebook.com/settings Click Logout at the bottom of any page (don’t worry – this will not delete your account) Enter the e-mail address and password you use to sign into Facebook and click Log In
Because you’ve logged out, we’ll now search your email addresses for the one that matches an email address on file. You will then be asked to enter a confirmation code sent to the email address associated with this account. If no emails match your login information, you can create a new one in just a few clicks by following these steps: Click Continue Enter some basic info about yourself in order to verify your identity Then type in or select your phone number Choose if you want Facebook to send SMS verification codes (recommended) or not Follow the prompts until it’s complete
I’m getting authorization errors when I try to log into certain websites
