Wix.com | How to Delete the Old Wix Blog

To delete your blog, just visit our blog manager and click the Delete button at the top of the page. We’ll do some checks to make sure that you really want to delete your site (we don’t want to leave anyone stranded!) which may take a few minutes, but once it’s done we will completely remove your site from our servers. It is not possible to restore a deleted Wix website.

If you want to get rid of all data associated with your account then you can do so by requesting an account closure. Your account will be closed permanently after 30 days if no response is received confirming that you would like us to dispose of your information in accordance with Wix’s Privacy Policy.

All in all, deleting your Wix blog is pretty much like closing any other account at Wix. We make it simple to do so and you have the option of completely taking everything down if that’s what you want. If you are having trouble with this process then we invite you to contact one of our customer service representatives. They can answer any questions that you may have and will be happy to help.

I’ve written lots of articles for my blog but I don’t see them now when I visit my site; why?

The new interface makes it really easy for us bloggers to post a quick update on whatever topic we’re writing about without having to go into a separate text editor page. But some bloggers who have used our service for a while may find that their older articles’ text is no longer in the main blog editor. Never fear, they are not lost! There’s just been some organizational clean-up done in this new interface and all your past articles have been moved under the “Articles” link on your blog manager page. From there you can view, edit or remove anything you want from these old posts.

I like my picture to be featured above my blog menu but I don’t see it anymore; how do I get it back?

There used to be an image box next to every menu item where bloggers could select pictures from their albums to accompany their site navigation. Unfortunately, this has now been replaced with Wix’s own module system which doesn’t allow for this kind of customization.

If you want to get your picture back, there are two ways to do it: either create a new menu item containing an image from your albums or add one directly into the Blog Manager module as shown in this example. Either way will make sure that your picture is back exactly where you want it!

Hi Wix Team, I upgraded my account recently and now I’m having trouble using some of my modules. Why?

My website was hacked and now appears as blank page with some code at the top! What happened?

We hate to hear that you’ve been a victim of any kind of cyber attack, so we want to ensure you know what’s going on and how best to fix it. We also want you to feel comfortable knowing that Wix takes steps every single day to protect our users from just these sorts of problems. If anyone gains unauthorized access to your account for any reason then there is a completely secure way for us to fully restore all the content on your site back into its original state. I updated my website but now I can’t log in; why?

The new platform was designed with maximum security in mind so that no information can be obtained from your account using stolen credentials. If you suspect that someone may have compromised your sign-in credentials and are now trying to access your account, please follow the steps in our article related to this issue.

There’s now a sidebar in the left-hand column of every blog page that contains all your past posts. Simply click on the title and you can edit, delete or re-publish any of them as you see fit.

My navigation menu doesn’t work anymore; what happened?

If there’s anything we’ve learned about website builders over the years it’s that users love to customize their site navigation to suit their own specific needs. Sometimes this customization comes in the form of adding lots of menus, sometimes in different places around the homepage, and sometimes using dropdown menus or tabs! Whatever way your users prefer to get around your website, they should be able to do it easily with no limitations. In order to ensure that everyone can use Wix the way they want to, we’ve made some changes to our main navigation area. We know that you can now drag and drop items from this menu onto any part of your page, but it is still possible for an item in the menu to have a link going directly to it (so no dropping required). Please see the image below for a comparison:

I noticed my website has been acting up as of late; why?

We’d like to ensure all of our users are able to enjoy using their sites efficiently at all times. Unfortunately, we’ve noted some issues with the way that our platform handles different connections and browsers. If you come across any problems connecting your account, please try switching your connection type or browser. It would also be great if you could let us know which browser you were using when the issue occurred, in order for us to identify the possible issues and get them fixed!

Why can’t I connect to my site via FTP anymore?

We’ve made some changes as part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that all users receive a consistent experience. Due to these changes, we will no longer have FTP access available. The only way you can edit your site is through our website builder or with a Premium subscription. Please note that editing your content with a Premium account will not change its structure on mobile devices, so for best results please use Wix’s mobile app.

I want to send out an email newsletter but need help getting it ready for my readers; why?

We’ve updated our email system in order to make it easier for everyone to send out emails and manage their campaigns. If you ever find yourself needing a hand with your campaigns, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Website Builder Team | Wix.com This article was last updated on January 12, 2017. 1 comment Last New Year, we introduced the new Wix Editor, and with it many improvements you’ve told us you wanted to see – like responsive editing via your phone’s browser and a simpler way to personalize your site (like by adding navigation menus). While making these changes, we also chucked out some stuff you didn’t really use, so everything is in its right place. But that’s not to say there aren’t any more improvements coming! We’re already hard at work developing plenty of other updates for this year based on your feedback and requests – things like better social media integration and easy ways to keep an eye on your site’s SEO. Thanks again to all the business owners on Wix who are helping make this company what it is today! We know you’re going to love using your sites even more than before, so feel free to reach out if there’s any way we can make your experience better with Wix!

Here are some of the most notable changes and improvements: The new homepage gives a quick overview of key stats about your site including your number of followers, views, shares, likes, and comments. You can also see how many people have viewed specific pages or events from these sections as well as engagement rates across social media. Get started with a Free Business Website Builder. The Site Pages section shows you all of your pages (including the new Pages panel ) and where they show up across your site. From here, you can see how many people have visited each page, get a quick overview of which are the most popular ones, or click on any individual page to edit it.

You can also use the Pages panel to quickly create new pages for your website, using smart templates we’ve created based on what we know popular businesses in various categories want. You’ll understand why I say “quickly” – just look at that GIF below! The Page Builder is now powered by Ajax technology, so once you select a template for a particular section, you can easily drag and drop elements to your liking.

The new social sharing buttons make it easier than ever before for people who visit your site to share your content on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Linked In, and Pinterest. You can also add this button – just like you would any other element – using the Page Builder or Wix Editor (social media icons are grouped in the “Social” category). And if someone shares something from one of your pages, their name will appear below each social icon so everyone knows who’s talking about it.
