How to Recover Temporarily Locked Facebook Account

Note : You will not be able to reactivate your account or retrieve anything you’ve posted, but you can download an archive of what’s on it before deactivating.” Is there a way I can do this without losing all my data? What happens after I do this?” If someone uses our Download Your Information tool after you have deactivated your account (or if you reinstate your account), the information that was available to you before deactivation will be accessible to them. Your friends can’t reactivate or log into your account, even if they contact Facebook directly. If someone has a Page with “Send Message” access associated with your profile (for example, as an admin or editor), they’ll still have that option after deactivation. Deactivating will not remove this type of page association. Can I retrieve my password? We recommend using our Password Reset feature to get back into your account . Otherwise, unfortunately we aren’t able to assist you.”

The above is a page from the Facebook Security Team regarding disabled accounts. I’ve been given no other option on how to reactivate my account, which was suddenly disabled for “suspicious activity”. All of my personal details were stripped away, leaving me only with an email address that was previously attached to another account (as noted in the aforementioned link). When I initially tried recovering the account password back to its rightful owner, Facebook wouldn’t allow it and said that they are unable to assist me in any way. So before you create multiple pages, or make Facebook your home base for all social interaction- make sure you keep these FAQ’s at hand!

You can also look into alternatives such as Google+ or Myspace… I hear they have great options for digital business networking and branding.

I’m still locked out, so I tried sending a message directly through my email address that was registered with Facebook. It’s been 1 day since I sent the message but it has yet to be read or responded to by anyone at Facebook, which is very strange considering their “Get Noticed. Get Response.” response time guarantee (via email) in regards to reaching out about account issues . Not good. My next step will be making some phone calls tomorrow morning and hopefully receiving a call back then!

How to Locked Facebook Profile | Facebook Profile is Locked

I made a blog post about this issue and posted it on Reddit, (which will be linked in a moment) and I’m getting mixed opinions! One of the main suggestions that I keep receiving is to simply compete a “password reset” form but this was already attempted. Another suggestion would have been contacting the user who originally claimed my profile but this option wasn’t available either. But I’m glad that my post is finally starting to gain some attention from others because it makes me feel like what’s happening to me is actually real.

Updates as of 11/5:

I received an email today from Facebook saying that my account has been reactivated! However, upon further inspection of my profile page, many personal details such as phone numbers and birth dates are missing; they are no longer visible. So, not everything is back to normal but at least I have access to my account again!

I also want to thank everyone for their input and help! :]

Updates as of 11/9: (or ” Mark Zuckerberg messed up… big time! ” )

More than one month since the first incident and I’m still experiencing problems with Facebook’s security team. After so many attempts in trying to get a hold of anyone who could actually help me, it was determined that my profile was hacked by someone who was using an “unblock” tool sometime during August. However, they pinned this issue on the person whom originally claimed it from me, even though he had no intentions of making any changes to my profile or page. Facebook then told me that they will be unblocking all posts and messages from the last few months (since “he” was supposedly using it) to make sure nothing is posted on behalf of myself . This seems to be a very strange approach because if someone hacked into my account, wouldn’t they have access to it for quite some time? But even after finding out about this information I still can’t seem to get a clear answer in terms of what really went wrong… and also why wasn’t I informed any of this sooner!

It seems as though when it comes down to the issue revolving around security, Facebook is willing to pin their mistakes on others rather than assuming accountability for them self.

The only thing that I can attribute this issue to (and it’s a very shocking guess) is: Facebook employees gaining unauthorized access to my personal profile and obtaining information on me, such as where I live, what school I go to etc… They may have acquired this info from someone they know personally who has already been banned from Facebook?! of doing something similar or even just through pure “debugging.” But if they wanted the information so bad, why would they give them away to by not deleting them after accessing my account? All that had to do was clean up their mess before handing it back over and pretend solved! If one person in the security team took advantage of this opportunity then obviously/she could be giving away this access to other people outside of the social networking giant.
