How do I downgrade my Hootsuite plan?


  1. Go to My profile.
  2. Select Manage my plan.
  3. Select Manage my Subscription,
  4. Select Change my plan.
  5. Select Downgrade in the Free section. You will have access to all of the paid plan features until the current billing period ends.

Hootsuite’s upgrading and downgrading service are only available to Hootsuite Apps customers. If you currently have a Free/Premium subscription, then you’ll upgrade or downgrade within the app itself. Just following these steps:

What is “Auto-renewal?”

When you purchase a subscription to any of our paid plans through the iTunes App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore, we’ll automatically bill your account with the corresponding plan fee at the end of every billing cycle.

Billing cycles vary from once a month up to 12 times per year depending on your plan type and selected billing option (annually or monthly). You can view this information in your Account Settings but here’s a quick breakdown:

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

If you have an annual or monthly paid subscription, simply deactivate it in your Account Settings before disabling auto-renewal through iTunes, Google Play Store or Amazon Appstore.

If you’ve already canceled your subscription but it hasn’t ended yet, don’t worry – we’ll automatically extend your account for the duration of the paid plan’s billing period. For example, if you cancel with one month left on your Pro annual plan, Hootsuite will extend that to one year (as long as auto-renewal is disabled), so there’s no risk of being without an active subscription!

What happens when my paid subscription ends?

When your paid account expires after the end date of a monthly or annual payment cycle, any content posted to Hootsuite during that time will remain visible within the app. However, features such as scheduling and publishing won’t be available for any new content until you either reactivate your subscription, or you reinstate the option to have Hootsuite automatically charge your account with every billing cycle that occurs.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To disable your auto-renewal settings for a paid plan:

Open the App Store app on iOS Tap ‘Featured’ and scroll down to ‘Manage Subscriptions’ Log in using your iTunes credentials Select Hootsuite from the list of subscriptions and tap ‘Manage’ In the auto-renewal section, turn off “Auto-Renew” Confirm by tapping “Turn Off Auto Renew” (iOS only) or “I’m Finished” followed by “OK” (Android only)

When you upgrade your account, Hootsuite will automatically extend the end date of your existing subscription period until the new subscription cycle begins – so don’t worry about being locked out for an unexpected amount of time!

You’ll be able to take full advantage of Hootsuite’s Premium features during your 14 day trial as well as after you upgrade to a paid plan in the future. However, if you cancel the subscription before it renews, all of your team member and sharing permissions will be revoked.
