I reported a problem with my video submission that I submitted on [insert date here] and it was never reviewed for publication on Starmaker’s website. What happened?

All of Starmaker’s videos are reviewed by actual people who watch them (and don’t just look at the title). So although you might expect a review within 24 hours, sometimes things take longer than expected, especially during busy periods like holidays and finals week at universities when submissions can be received in droves.

In particular, during busy periods we usually only review videos that are new or recently updated. We also tend to prioritize reviews based on video length – i.e., shorter (less than 5 minutes) submissions can take longer for us to watch and reject/delete if they’re not up to our quality standards.

If you feel that your submission is still waiting for a review after several days, please send an email containing the following information to [email protected]: Date of Submission Video URL Your Full Name And whether you still have access to the video since it’s possible that you may not be able to retrieve it after a certain amount of time has passed since its creation. If so, provide as many details as possible (such as the title, description, category it was submitted to, etc) about the video so that we can identify and locate your submission.

We will then do our best to find out why your review request is taking longer than expected. Please be aware that if we are unable to locate your submission for any reason or more than two weeks have passed since you initially reported a problem with your video, we may no longer be able to offer you another opportunity to submit this same video again. However, please note that Starmaker reserves the right to remove submissions from its website at any time either because of violations of these Terms of Use or simply due to high volume on our servers which results in videos becoming inaccessible within a reasonable amount of time after a video’s creation.

I reported a problem with my review on [insert date] and it was never resolved/resolved incorrectly. What happened?

Sometimes, we receive more review requests than our small team of volunteer reviewers can handle. But don’t panic! 🙂 This usually occurs during the busy period before Christmas or when universities are in session (since schoolwork is often a higher priority). We appreciate your patience as we try to catch up on all the submissions that were submitted by Starmaker users like you. You can see whether your request has been closed correctly by checking the “Status” section of the review form:

In Progress – Your review is being actively worked on and may take time to complete

If your submission is still under review after a few days, please send an email to [email protected] with the date of your initial request and the URL you submitted. We will then do our best to find out why your video’s status has not changed yet.
