Harmony Remote Repair
How to Reboot / Reset Harmony remote Ultimate / Touch / Elite
I’m sure you’ve seen the commercials for the new Harmony remote. It can control your TV, DVD player, and sound system all at once with one easy-to-use device. And it promises to make life easier by eliminating all those expensive remotes sitting on your coffee table or cluttering up your couch cushions. But what if you want to remove a remote from your Harmony account? That depends on who is using it most often.
If this Harmony remote is mainly being used by a family member other than the person who originally set it up, then he or she will need to log in as that person and change their settings accordingly before removing the original user from their account.
If they are going through a divorce or other legal separation, that person may need to get permission from the other spouse or partner before changing his or her Harmony’s settings. If this remote is mainly being used by one specific user, then they can simply go into their account Settings and remove all of the devices on their current setup. Then they should log out of their account and log back in as someone else so that new users can set up their own Harmony device(s).
On the other hand, if you just want to erase your personal info off of a Harmony remote, you’ll have more than enough time to save any important data that’s stored on it first. Log into your online account on Logitech’s website first and uncheck the box for “Allow account access when the device is not in use.” Once you have, turn off your remote by holding down the big red power button on its backside for 10 seconds.
Then pull out the batteries and leave them out for a minute or two. After that, put the batteries back into the Harmony remote before turning it back on again. Your Harmony should now be reset to factory settings with all of your data gone. If you want to check that everything was properly erased, just log back into your online account on Logitech’s website one more time and make sure things are definitely gone this time around.
Add a Remote. Using the supplied USB link, connect your Harmony to your computer. When prompted, select Continue With Software. After that, software will query if you already have a remote and want to copy settings. Select Copy Settings on the drop-down menu.

Open the Harmony mobile app and connect to your Harmony hub. Select MENU, then Harmony Setup > Add/Edit Devices & Activities > DEVICES. At the bottom of the screen, choose ADD DEVICE. Pick a device type and provide the manufacturer and model number for it.
