How do I remove a site from Google Analytics?

  1. Go to the Admin tab in Google Analytics.
  2. Select the domain and the property (website).
  3. Click ‘view settings‘ in the 3rd column.
  4. Click ‘Delete view
  5. Confirm the deletion. Done!

The email address(es) associated with your Google account(s). Information identifying the site you would like removed from your view of Analytics data. This includes the domain name, and any additional specific identifiers (for example, “/blog/” or “/wiki/”). Also include whether you are an administrator for this site. For each affected website, please provide a URL which shows that you have admin access to the website in question. We require this URL only in order to verify ownership of the site; we do not track users’ actions on non-owned sites via analytics.google.com. Please note that if you share login credentials with other users who can access this site, we may not be able to remove your access.

We will respond to requests for removal within two weeks. For urgent matters, you may send a follow-up request with additional details.

Why do I see an error when trying to delete a property?

Some properties are managed by Google and it is necessary for them to remain active on your account, even after deletion of the data associated with those properties. In particular:

If you choose to delete a web property that has page views or events associated with it, then other Analytics users viewing that website (including the owners) will still be able to see the deleted data in their own accounts; only those who have had access specifically removed will receive a 404 error when visiting the deleted page.

If you choose to delete a web property for which users have defined goals, then those goals are moved automatically to your _default_ goal.

Can I delete my account without removing any properties?

No. Please contact support if you are interested in doing so.

How can I remove data from groups of sites and not just one site at a time?

You can export your data (see How do I download my Google Analytics data?) and use third party software to merge or join the files into a single file that contains all of the information from all of your sites. This process is known as “data warehousing”.

Note: If you attempt to load data into a Google Analytics property that already exists, you will be asked to confirm whether or not you want to replace the data.

Also, if you use any of the built-in Google Analytics custom dimensions (such as source/medium/campaign) or custom variables (such as transaction IDs), these keys are domain specific, so they can not be merged across multiple domains and still work correctly. In this case, it is OK to leave those properties from one site out of such analytic reports; they simply won’t show up for that site in the consolidated analysis.

How do I export my Google Analytics data?

Click on Admin in the left navigation panel. Click Data Export > Start new export at the top of your admin console. Choose your options and click the red Request button.

Please note that after you authenticate with Google for this export, you will be asked to confirm whether or not you want to Replace existing data in property (yes/no). If no, then it will only add more data without overwriting any existing information already there.

How do I filter my reports?

Click on Admin in the left navigation panel. Click Data View Settings next to the property you’d like to filter. Choose Filter and create a custom view by clicking New Filtered View . You can then choose which filters apply when viewing this report.

Note: Shortly after creating a new filtered view, there may not be any traffic available in that view yet (e.g., if you are currently set to see all traffic), so click Apply after you’ve created it and then wait about 24 hours for your first traffic to be available.

If I delete a property, do I also lose the email address associated with it?

Yes, please make sure first to add another email on the Dashboard if needed: https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/#dashboard

How do I bulk update property settings (such as view filters)?
