How to Erase iPhone Without Apple ID

Reset IPhone iCloud Unlock

Write an article about how it’s possible to reset your iPhone to factory settings without the Apple ID password. If you forgot your Apple ID password or are locked out, there is a way to get back into your phone without losing any of the data on your phone. You can do this by doing a hard reset.  A hard reset will restore all of the settings that were when you first got your phone and it will also disable “Find my Phone.” This will be done through iTunes when you connect your iPhone with computer.

Things you’ll need:

Computer (PC or Mac) and the latest version of iTunes and a USB cable.

Steps:

1. You will first need to download and install the latest version of iTunes onto your computer if you do not already have this software installed on your computer. For more information, please visit https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes/id415461367?mt=18 . Once it has been downloaded, click on open when prompted by the pop-up message.  Once the program is open you will be asked to log in with an Apple ID username and password which you can create through an iOS device or for free at http://appleid.apple.com .

2. Once your Apple ID has been validated you can now connect your iPhone with the USB cable to your computer once it has been powered off and held the power and home button down for a few seconds until the phone turns on. You will then see a pop-up message appear on iTunes that will state that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and needs to be restored before it can be used with iTunes.  Click “OK” on this message to proceed with the steps below:

3. After clicking OK, you may need to confirm that you want to restore by clicking “restore” through iTunes as well.  You should now see a progress bar appear under your device name in iTunes that will state that the iPhone is being restored. During this restoration, all of your data and settings will be erased and you should keep the USB cable connected to your computer until this process is completed.  Once it has been finished iTunes will state that your iPhone is now set as a new device and ready for use with an Apple ID username and password.

4. If you have any iOS software (updates) available on iTunes, you can now follow these same steps above to restore those as well if you wish. Or you can skip this step and proceed with steps 5 & 6 below:

5. You may need to disable Find my Phone since we will no longer be using the same iCloud account (Apple ID) once we reset the data on the phone.  For instructions on how to disable Find my Phone, please follow this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4790 .

6. Once you have disabled Find my Phone you can now reconnect your iPhone back to iTunes and click “Restore Backup” or “Sync” with options given. You will be prompted with a pop-up message saying that all of your information would be erased from the iPhone if you proceed so make sure not to press OK if you already have backed up any files onto the computer since they would also be deleted in doing this step!

7. Now that all of our data has been restored into iTunes it is time for us to reset the phone itself by going to the “Summary” tab in iTunes and clicking “Restore” under the “options.” You will then see another pop-up message that states that all of your information would be deleted from the iPhone.  Click OK to proceed with resetting your phone!

8. The restoration process should now begin and may take a little while before it finishes. Please do not disconnect the iPhone or turn off your computer during this process. You will also see a progress bar appear in iTunes again when it has been finished restoring, which you can now check out your new device!
