How to Stop Unwanted Promotional Emails in gmail
I want to be done with it for good, but the process of unsubscribing is a pain in the ass. I have been trying to get rid of my account for months now and am still not successful. Here is what I do every time: – Find an email address that has never had any correspondence with Zomato before so as not to raise suspicion – Send them my request via email – Wait for their reply which usually takes only a few days – And finally, delete my account through their website! It’s such a long and tedious process and needs no less than five steps just so I can say goodbye once and for all.
Unless you’re an avid Zomato user, the restaurant-finding app is likely just taking up space on your phone. And if you are using it, there’s a good chance that you’ve already used all of its features and can’t see any potential in them anymore. With so many other food apps out there, not to mention Google Maps for finding restaurants nearby, what more can Zomato offer? Let’s take a look at some alternatives to this popular but underwhelming app.
The first alternative is Yelp – which offers similar features as Zomato when it comes to reviewing restaurants with photos and videos – plus they have menus for each restaurant available on their website too. But Yelp is dying out as a food app – Google Maps has been putting it to shame, and so have other apps such as Swiggy and Zomato. They do not update their menus regularly enough (if at all) and the reviews posted on their site are generally of an older time.
The second alternative to Zomato is Google Maps. You can find restaurants within a given radius (if you’re lucky, the map will even sort them out in order of price range) and get an estimate of how long it’ll take to get there. The best thing about this app is that it’s free, so there’s no need for premium accounts or subscriptions. You can find restaurants in your vicinity, add them to a list and keep track of their ratings when you’re out and about. And when you do plan on visiting one of the places it recommends, this app will show you directions to get there.
The third alternative is Swiggy – which happens to be an online food delivery service more than anything else. If you want food delivered to your home or office by local restaurants, this is probably the best choice available right now. The app isn’t specifically designed for reviewing restaurants but many people use it as such anyway. There are no ads, but then again, no premium accounts either. The main downside is that not all locations have food delivery options via this app so you’ll need to look up and compare the prices and menus of restaurants in your area that do offer it before making a decision.
The fourth alternative is Zomato. No, we’re not kidding – despite all its shortcomings, this app does have some features that make it worthwhile. It’s free to download and use (although you’ll need to upgrade if you want to access the full version) and it’s easy enough for anyone to get started with. You can make lists of your favorite places, review them after enjoying a meal there, take photos and videos of food items or restaurant interiors and upload them on Zomato – but none of these features are worth paying for either (not even the ‘premium’ account). Swiggy and Google Maps are better alternatives than Zomato but you should still give this app a try if nothing else works out.
