Linked contacts are contacts that you have saved in your phone and also in a different location such as iCloud, Google, or other accounts. You can remove these linked contacts by going to Settings, then tap on Accounts & Passwords, and then tap on the account that contains the linked contact. Once you are there, go to “Links” and delete it.
To delete a linked contact, first open the contact that you want to delete. On the upper right corner of the screen, tap on “Edit.” Scroll down and tap on “Delete Contact.” Confirm your decision by selecting “Yes” and then tapping on “Done.
When a contact is linked on an iPhone, it means that the contact has been synced with the phone and can be accessed from the device.
The contacts may have been saved to the phone twice. If you are using iCloud, then the contacts should only be saved once. If you are not using iCloud, then it is possible that your contacts were accidentally synced to your phone twice.

Unlinking a contact from your phone’s contacts list means that you have deleted their information from your phone. You will not be able to call, text, or email them until you link the contact again.
