Instagram is not recognizing my username anymore after deleting it so they can remove it from searches. SO, if someone chooses the same username as me when creating another account, my original posts will still come up in PhotoScrobble but under their name instead of mine which defeats the purpose of why I deleted my Instagram account.

What’s the point of permanently deleting an account then? If Instagram won’t recognize that I’m a completely different person and actively remove my username from searches then they’re just as bad at customer service as Facebook.

Hello everyone! So previously (a few months ago) I wrote this blog post about PhotoScrobble which revealed some of the changes Instagram made to their API which basically limits third-party apps from accessing your content. Sadly, the app will stop working in 2018 and I personally am not too upset because Instagram is making major changes with their service along with limiting access to other apps such as Statigram (RIP) and InstaTags. This post was actually written about 2 months ago but in my haste, I forgot to add a link to an update at the end of my post. So here it is: Instagram has reached out to say that this article contains incorrect information. A few parts were updated though the changelog wasn’t updated since May 6th which was 13 days before they contacted me about these “incorrect” statements.
