How do you delete mailboxes on iPhone?

Mailboxes on iPhones are managed by the iCloud service. To delete a mailbox, you must first delete it from iCloud.

On an iPhone, to delete a mailbox from your phone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Accounts. Under the account that contains the mailbox you want to delete, tap on the mailbox and then tap Delete Account.

Mailboxes on Exchange servers are associated with Active Directory user accounts. When you delete a mailbox, the mailbox is physically deleted from the Exchange server, but the Active Directory user account is not deleted. If you delete the user account, the mailbox will be automatically recreated.
