If you’ve come across an Instagram post and want to see what others are saying, viewing comments is simple. Comments can give you more context, highlight popular opinions, or just let you see if someone replied to your comment. This guide walks you through the process, whether you’re using a mobile device or a computer.
- Open the Instagram app or website: Launch the Instagram app on your mobile device or go to Instagram.com on your web browser. Log into your account if you haven’t already.
- Find the post you want to view comments on: Scroll through your feed, explore page, or go directly to a user’s profile. Tap or click on the post to open it.
- Locate the comments icon: On the mobile app, beneath the post, you’ll see icons for like, comment, and share. The comment icon looks like a speech bubble. On the website, comments are visible below the post immediately.
- Tap or click on the comments icon: This action will open the comments section. If you’re on mobile, the comments will appear below the post, often with a “View all comments” link if there are many comments.
- View all comments: Tap on “View all comments” (mobile) or scroll down to see all comments (web). Comments are displayed in chronological order, with the newest at the bottom or top depending on the platform.
- Read or reply to comments: Tap or click on a comment to read full text, especially if it’s truncated. To reply, tap the reply button or icon next to the comment on mobile, or type your response directly if the comment section is open.
- Use additional options: On mobile, you can tap the three dots next to a comment to delete, report, or hide it if necessary. On web, hover over a comment to see these options.
If a post has many comments, it might load gradually or show a summary. You can also use filters or search to find comments with specific keywords if needed. Remember, some comments may be hidden or filtered by the user for spam or offensive content. If you can’t see certain comments, it might be due to privacy settings or block restrictions.
