When you delete Kik does it delete your conversations?

Answer

Your messages will always be stored in the kik server database though for a period of time. If you uninstall the app they still have the chat on their kik account until they delete it. If you deactivate your account the chat is also still there if I remember and it,s  correctly shows up as deleted user.

How To Delete Kik Messages

I have heard that Kik deletes all of the messages in your inbox when you delete Kik. Is this true?

“Does it Delete Conversations?”

This is a very interesting question! I haven’t noticed a difference since deleting my app and starting from scratch, so i am going to say… NO! Not yet anyway. Please let us know if you notice a difference.

There are two possibilities: one possibility is that they don’t delete anything just yet, which makes sense because users would probably get pretty angry over lost conversations and photos. The second possibility is that they do not permanently delete older messages like other apps (FB Messenger) but rather only temporarily hide them or worse actually save them on some server somewhere.

Whichever it is, I would like to speak on the privacy of your data: Your messages are probably not deleted. It makes sense that Kik knows this, but there’s nothing they can do about it until consumers really get pissed off over privacy issues. I am quite skeptical about these kinds of apps and whether or not our data is actually safe… So in my opinion as long as you have a backup (of which there aren’t many options 🙁 ) then you should be good and don’t worry too much cause we all want to live in the future! 😀

You could try downloading some different messaging apps for smartphones and see if they delete your conversations when you delete them. If anyone finds out anything new let me know!
